Just found out I'm being let go due to the merger and the way design is going to be handled going forward. I have two weeks left on the job. I'll be okay for a while with a decent severance package, but it sucks. Hopefully Nancy sill be ready to hire me for pay sooner rather than later -- she's getting close.

6. It was a "business decision"

They had to make some headcount cuts due to the merger, and my position was considered unnecessary in the restructuring. In a way it's a relief, but it's still hard until I know for sure what's going to happen. Of course, it will cut my eventual pension amount and possibly my SS benefit, depending what happens with Nancy or other employment. It will also stop my 401(k) in its tracks because nothing new will go into it now. I'm also okay on medical until the end of February since they're picking up my COBRA until then.
