11. RIP, Ernie Harwell

Just heard long-time Tigers announcer died at the age of 92. He'd been ill with cancer for a while, so it's not unexpected, but it's sad all the same. Hearing Ernie's voice on the radio always meant summer to me.

It's spendier than a hotel room, but since I can cook and store food while I'm there, I won't have to eat out for every single meal, which I really hate. I like eating out, but not every meal for an entire week! Plus it allows me to cook for you and the others, which I'm also looking forward to!

I made up a great recipe a few months ago based on a recipe I've been making for years.

It has a thin slice of black forest ham on top (that okay with you? if not, I can leave it off your piece), and is served with wild rice (harvested by my Chippewa father in law in upper Minnesota), and asparagus. For dessert, I'm going to make creme brulee.
