I had forgotten to call a prescription in earlier this week, and I didn't realize it had to be renewed by my doctor this time. The person I was on the phone with asked why I had waited so long, in a rather accusatory tone of voice. Sheesh.

Maybe it's because I'm been SICK!

My family in Arkansas used to have fish frys all the time during the summer, done with fish caught fresh that day. THAT was good stuff!

34. Andy's been fighting a cold/sinus infection for a couple of weeks now.

Last night he was going to make supper, but he fell asleep on the sofa, and didn't wake up until 11:30. Fortunately, I had soup in the house, and an apologetic fiancee the next morning. :)

57. Dad's been having a few problems.

After talking with the day nurse, we figured out that he was overmedicated, so he's in the process of a new meds change. Hopefully, it will make him less sleepy and less nauseated so he can eat. Other than that, we're good!

61. Oh, thank goodness, Rev! My mom ended up being over-

medicated a few years ago, and scared the hell out of me. I was talking to her on the phone, and suddenly she wasn't responding to me. I freaked, because I lived 300 miles from her. I tried to get hold of my siblings who lived near her, and no one was home. I contemplated calling 911 in the town she lived in, but decided to try calling her back first. She answered the phone, thank goodness, but it still worried me.

I told my sisters about what happened; they took her and all her meds in to see her doc, and the doc promptly eliminated over half of what she was taking. Her mind cleared up in less than 24 hours.

Scary stuff.

65. It happens more often than people realize.

The doctor does rounds at the nursing home, and I don't know if he consults his records or theirs. It sent the nurses on a records hunt, trying to figure out when he was prescribed what, and the dosage was confusing. Now they're switching him to a lower dose that is liquid rather than capsules (he was chewing the granules, because he can't swallow properly). We should see a difference in a couple of weeks.
