Happy 4th all. My brother is in town for a couple weeks. That be the good news. Bad news my nephew's wife of less than a year left him. Hoping it is repairable but not sure since with us if you lose trust you lose. At least his day is here for a couple weeks to listen. (Yes she left 2 days before her inlaws came for a visit from Florida.)

I'm sorry to hear about your nephew. That's rough, even on the extended family.
I remember one summer when my parents & I went to visit John & Lynn. They were married about a year, so we were especially nice and stayed at a hotel. But one afternoon we were sitting around, trying to figure out what to do. For no reason at all (that we could tell), Lynn exploded in anger, hopped in her car and disappeared for a couple of hours. My brother was embarassed and didn't know what to say... and a couple of hours later, Lynn came back, with no apology or explanation. My mom walked on eggshells around her for years after that. :eyes:
Hopefully, it's just the adjustment to the extended family thing going on. But either way, :hug: for you and your brother.

44. Stress can make tpeople do weird things.

I have been letting either know I am here (as has my mom and others) but staying out of it beyond that. Jason has only said that if it isn't going to work out now is better than later since they don't have kids or property that needs to be fought over. He is stunned, has no idea why and walking around lost. Not sure if she has tried to tell him what is wrong or not but if she has she hasn't said it in a way he can understand. :shrug: Men can be dense but you do have to be around communicate.

Now on your mom, I don't know if I could of spent years without asking my brother if he found out why. It is also sad to think she walked on eggshells not only for her but for what your SIL missed out on. I just can't imagine any woman that raised someone like you not being a warm caring person that wouldn't of been a great MIL. The first couple years of marriage can be pretty hard as you are merging two families, histories and personalities. Thing is you have to be there to make it work. Oh that goes no matter the age of the newlyweds. Best advice I ever got was from a now 56 years of marriage couple. When ever anyone ask how they managed they say stubbornness. They said both of them were to stubborn to be the one that left and gave up on it all so they dug in and rode out the bad times. After the first couple rough patches they realized that bad times do end and you can rediscover the love that was always there even if buried.
