And here's some background on her "coach," Chely Wright:

Chely Wright, 39, was once a sweetheart of the country music world, earning awards and recognition...During the height of her popularity...rumors began to spread that she was gay. During that time, John Rich reached out to her...(He) asked Wright, “You’re not gay, are you? If you are, people won’t have it!” Wright acknowledges that it was the first time she lied out loud to another person about her sexuality. She told John Rich that she was not...Rich told her, “You gotta hit this gay thing (rumor) head on…it’s sick, it’s deviant, it’s unacceptable to country music fans.”

...Wright said that since the time she was a kid, she had prayed that she would not be gay and that living a lie led her to almost committing suicide. She told the Today Show that when she instead prayed for a “moment’s peace”, she “got the understanding” and knew that God expected only one thing from her and that was to tell the truth.

...John Rich spoke with Access Hollywood about Chely Wright's revelations: "I feel awful that...my decade-old comment - 'Good, thank God' - was taken the wrong way...I was clumsily trying to express my relief that even a country boy like me had a one-in-a-million chance of having a beer with a woman as talented and attractive as Chely...For years after that conversation, Chely invited me to perform at charity events...I wish she would have said something directly to me before (her) book's publicity tour, especially since some of the comments attributed to me in the book are not mine."

P.S. Bon Jovi wrote couple of songs with John Rich on their last album. One of their lyrics were "Gettin' down with Big and Rich and Richie and Jon." They've been singing "Gettin' down with Big and Richie and Jon" on their current concert tour.
