2. He didn't explain why it was the last episode.

He said he was very grateful to his audience for everything that they did to support him over the last eight years. But no mention of why Countdown is finished, or what he's doing next.

8. I caught a little of Chris Hayes, assuming he was subbing

I only got about 30 seconds near the end of a segment, and the camera angles were all fucked up. Like - here's a side view of Chris talking at a dormant camera, now switch to an overhead view of him talking. It was bizarre.

They don't like KO and will pay him his 14 million - 7 mill for 2 years left on his contract.

13. We can't trust his employer to tell us the truth

and he probably can't say anything until his contract is played out or he doesn't get the money. *sigh* He also may not be able to get back on the air until after the contract is up.

I do hope he was able to negotiate a faster end for it. If I were him, I'd dump some of the money just to have a little less idleness forced on me. I mean, it's not like he lives hand to mouth. To him, I think, his voice is more valuable than a million here or there. Besides, if he signs with someone else, he'll be in the clover again. And if nobody wants to sign him, they're a fool.
