"Hi, KO here. Thought I'd remind you--if you didn't get to hear Dan and me today, hop on over to the ESPN Radio Web site and listen to the show. It was a great one if I do say so myself...and again, I was on today instead of Friday because of DAN's schedule, not my own...so there!

"I do have one small complaint, though. Apparently someone was offended when I joked at the end of the show that unlike my schedule on Dan's show, on Countdown 'we're on EVERY night.'" I guess some people took that a little too literally. Uh, you guys, note, I said 'WE,' not 'ME'? The SHOW is on every night, even if I'm not. Well, whenever Bush doesn't preempt us for a press conference to try to sell the war, that is.

(muttering to self) I'm sorry, but I think once in a while a man has the right to a little vacation--and not one where his mouth is sore, either! (end of mutter)

"Anyway. PLEASE watch Countdown tonight. In case you haven't noticed, the ratings lately have been, well, bad. So please watch, and help me break 200,000. Okay? I promise I won't go on vacation again for a while. How long 'a while' is, I won't commit to. But hey! In the words of the great Bob Seger: 'We've got tonight. Why don't you stay?'"

8. I really have a hard time understanding

how anyone could follow someone like Robertson. It is almost as mind boggling as understanding what type of average middle/lower income person could support Bush.

It is really sad.

38. It's not just stupidity.

There are plenty of otherwise smart people out there who actually adore Bush and his ilk. Why? Because their brains get bypassed when for some reason, he taps into something in their gut. The Repubs are also great at framing arguments so that they look like the reasonable ones. A lot of otherwise smart people fall for that kind of stuff. It's how they succeed in actually getting people to vote against their own interests.

but there was a story here in NC about a big rig driver pumping $230.00 into his rig and then driving off and not paying!!!

No one was hurt, but I'm hearing more and more stories off people pumping and running.

The Ramada Inn in Janesville, WI is about 20 miles from my hometown. And no, I've never "visited" it, but I have been to the restaurant there, and used their shuttle service to O'Hare. :)

(oh, that's not to say that I wouldn't volunteer to go "visit" there with a certain someone... :loveya: )
