1. He didn't come to St. Louis
because the "50 States in 50 Days" tour is a SportsCenter thing, and Keith isn't on SportsCenter. Sorry, but them's the breaks. *sigh*

Anyway, it's rather interesting that Dan was the catalyst for this, and he seems to have had some hurt feelings too, which I guess you would. I think he felt rejected personally, in a way. By leaving ESPN behind, Keith was by necessity leaving HIM behind, and I think that did hurt.

What I find interesting is that this article focuses on Dan rather than Keith, and what losing Keith as his partner did to his career--to its detriment, actually. I think Keith gave him an extra spark that he just could not get from anyone else, and the end result was that his career suffered. When I listen to them on the radio together, I can't help but feel that Dan is "reinvigorated" the way he wanted. And if ESPN isn't ready to let him all the way back in the door yet, Dan is probably halfway there.

2. ooh, more than a few hurt feelings there
but I can understand it. If you're part of a team and you're doing something special together, even when you realize it's not going to last forever, it can be hard to give that up. And if that ends by one person walking away from the team, even if they aren't leaving because of you, it's natural to feel that they are undervaluing what you've created together and, by extension, you.

Given the lengths that KO went to to make this one-hour-a-week radio stint happen and how obviously pleased he's been by the reunion, I'd say that Dan's not the only one who missed and valued their partnership.

And Berry? You know what that discussion a few weeks ago about whether KO gets along with management really sounded like, in retrospect? A couple of ten-year-olds, on a long car trip, playing, "Did not." "Did so." Maybe that's what you get when you put those two in the same studio... ;-)

4. I am sure Dan's not the only one who missed it.
After all, look who was talking about feeling "like Ted Williams' head"...and probably for more reasons than one.

Oh yeah, they could very well have been having a ten-year-olds' spat...a lot of times when I hear them, I feel as if they are bringing out the naughty little boy in each other. And it's hilarious. Long may they wave!

3. At least KO has an 'out' if Kaplan does anything, which, if
the current trend for tabloid trash on MSNBC continues, KO may need.
