I love KO, but I wish someone would just make Rita go away. I watched a bit of her "reporting live from New Orleans" and her irritating voice and lack of any type of emotion (IMO) just grates on my nerves.:puke:

Rita Skeeter is a pain in the ears and the mind.

And please, don't feel alienated by the fact that so many of us at the Church of Olbermann find our worship enhanced by the fact that we find the object of said worship "hot." Remember, we have our coterie of "het-boys," and only part of it is due to enjoying being around such a hotbed of lusty het-girls (hope does spring eternal, doesn't it)? It's also, I like to think, because they simply agree with us that Keith speaks truth to power...whether or not he's "your type"!

So stick around. Why, someday Keith will even be laughing and smiling on Countdown again. Maybe not soon, but the day will come.

You know, when it comes, I think we should have a commemorative paper-pitching party. If it becomes evident ahead of time that Countdown is reverting to a more conventional state, and that Keith is seeing fit to go back to full snark--complete with Oddball, Top 3 Newsmakers and "Keep your knees loose"--we should commemorate by each gathering a sheaf of papers and tossing it into the air at the end of Top 3 Newsmakers, and wadding up a ball of paper and throwing it at the screen at the end of the show (preferably at Rita after she takes over).

You just made me remember how much I adored Kate Smith when I was a very little girl. (I'm showing my age a bit, now. :) ) I loved her "God Bless America." :cry:
KO might not be "my type," but I'm smart enough to know that he is the only person who is consistently telling it "like it is," and not sugarcoating everything, or lying, or bullshitting, or playing the "blame game."
The guy deserves an Emmy or Pulitzer or whatever they might give newscasters.
Oh, and one last thought. He is kinda cute, and I love the suits and the color coordination. Oh, yes, and can't forget the snark.
