KOEB 9/27/05

"Hi, KO here. So you liked last night's show a little, eh? Watch tonight and see if I can keep up my snarking streak.

"After all, my stats are going up (take a look at last month's ratings, ahem ahem) and my record in this ballpark is very good! Even the current issue of Rolling Stone calls my Katrina rant an 'instant classic'!

"So watch tonight...and make it worthwhile for me to miss all this baseball! PLEASE!"

38. there has to be some legal issue that needs working out
i think her lawyer is right, there is a question of law that needs to be sorted out. i don't do federal court, so what i know about the supremes isn't that much. her step-son's atty may be correct that there are no questions of fact to be worked out (which the supremes never hear anyway), but they wouldn't pick up this case if there wasn't some legal issue that needed hammering out. i do, however, think he's whining about his client not getting to put on all of his evidence....whine whine, then why didn't he appeal THAT?

glad to know my bar card comes in handy sometimes. :)

87. Like I should know?????
From personal experience, I mean?

Anyway, Pronk is the nickname of a certain DH for a certain baseball team. His real name is Travis Hafner. He got the nickname "Pronk" as a combination of "project" and "donkey." This is supposedly because at one point another Indian saw him at a practice and said he looked like a nice "project." "Project" became his nickname. Then, certain others started calling him "Donkey," and eventually the two nicknames combined.

The origins of "Donkey" are somewhat murky. At one time he said it might be because of how he ran bases, but when he was FIRST asked where the nickname came from, he said "Don't ask." Leading me to believe that the "running-the-bases" explanation may have been a case of revisionist history. I.e., the origins of "Donkey" lie somewhere that they'd rather not talk about. The locker room, perhaps?

I'm just speculatin'. I don't know nothin'. :-)

Because if it said "I (heart) Olberman" it would have been misspelled.
