OMG, if I was O'Reilly, ratings or not, making a deal like that is just not worth getting made fun of so bad, haha. No way! My brother and I always talk about how you don't want to get in a battle of words with a comedian or somebody who is funny and quick-witted like that. Bill tried to do battle with both Al Franken and now Keith. That's just not a good move. Those guys make fools out of better men than Bill O'Reilly, before breakfast, haha. He's just either oblivious to how bad it makes him look. doesn't care or is a glutton for punishment.

4. Tell me about it.

The post by BlueIris is especially incomprehensible. Saying BI "had to stop watching him" after he said "Case Closed" about something (never says exactly what)" because he was "pandering to the Right" and "I've had questions about Keith Olbermann for a while" and calling him "a goddamned moron" and a "hoor"?

Sometimes I think some people here go off their meds and this is the result.

6. I was thinking "Case Closed" must be a TV show I haven't seen

that KO mentioned in that blog about shows he likes to watch and that this program is anathema to BlueIris. If so, then so what? I'm going to stop watching Countdown because I don't like the same TV programs he does? :eyes: I don't feel a need to identify with him that closely in every single aspect of my life. For pity's sake, he's the guy that brings us the news; it's not his job to be my best buddy and win my personal seal of approval.

7. I do not get the "Case Closed" reference at all.

I do not think it's a reference to a show. I'm trying to cast my mind back to a time when he said it and it's just not coming to me. But anyway, it always mystifies me how some DU'ers will get all bent out of shape and swear off his show because, for example, he says something that actually implies that maybe the Democrats are DISORGANIZED(!) or won't properly take advantage of something stupid the Repubs do or say because they don't seem to have their stuff together(!) enough to do so. They get their knickers in a knot about it, declare that he's just a tool of the Evil GEGOP Empire, and shut him off, never to watch again. And why? Because he had the nerve to criticize Democrats.

They seem to have forgotten many things, among them that KO never claimed to be a Dem mouthpiece. Also, that not everyone who criticizes the Dems is their enemy. That some are simply looking at what they do and giving an opinion. An opinion that maybe something constructive could be learned from if one did not knee-jerk reject it out of hand.

Oh well. Some people really and truly cannot stand anything but to hear their own opinions parroted back at them all the time.
