Succumbing to scandal, former Majority Leader Tom Delay said Tuesday he is resigning from Congress, a move that closes out a career that blended unflinching conservatism with a bare-knuckled political style. "I think I could have won this seat but it would have been nasty. It would have cost a fortune to do it," DeLay said in an interview with Fox News on Tuesday. He said was "looking forward to being liberated outside the House, doing whatever I can to unify the conservative cause." MSNBC's Chris Matthews reported Monday evening that DeLay told him in an interview that "the polling on him in the 22nd District was going down," as a result of his part in a campaign contribution controversy.

Bonds scooped up the needle-less syringe -- which had been hurled from the left field grandstand during the eighth inning -- with his glove and dropped it in a camera well near the visitors dugout as he trotted off the field. "I just put it off the field so no one would get hurt," said Bonds.

There's one summer movie that has the Internet buzzing. It has fans posting excited speculations about the plot, making up their own T-shirt designs, even writing songs in honor of the film. It's not "Mission: Impossible 3." It's not "The Da Vinci Code," and it's not "Superman Returns" or "X-Men 3. "No, it's "Snakes on a Plane."

Finally,
A mock rabbit wedding at a Somerset tourist attraction has been slammed for "belittling" the animals. Animal cruelty campaigners have criticized organizers at Wookey Hole Caves for dressing two Continental giant rabbits in wedding costumes for a ceremony to mark the Easter holiday season. The stunt was billed as the UK's first ever rabbit wedding. The animals live with their owner in Worcestershire. Roberto, aged three, is 3ft 6in long and is believed to be the biggest rabbit in the world. But the RSPCA slammed the organizers for sending out the wrong message about animals. "This puts the wrong message across. Animals are not toys to be dressed up."
