I recently had a repeat episode of retinal detachment in my right eye, with surgery on New Year's Day 2008. The eye has healed quite well but I now have a much more severe nearsightedness than before. The eye dr. said there is also a cataract on the right eye, but it's not bad enough for surgery yet. He did say that the myopia is so severe that it cannot be corrected with glasses. My right eye glass lens was already thicker than coke bottles.
I wore contacts for about 30 years (hard, gas permeable), but with allergies and eye dryness, I finally went back to eye glasses about 12 years ago. He thinks that I need to go back to wearing contacts and said that there have been some improvements since I last wore them. Does anyone else here have similar problems with myopia and, if you wear contacts, are you satisfied with the way they correct your vision.
Any responses will be greatly appreciated.
