I'm getting sinus surgery in two weeks. Anyone gone through this?
I've had chronic sinusitis for a long time, really bad for two years now. I've had all the tests and scans, etc. and apparently I have very narrow sinus openings which are easily blocked. So I guess I'm getting the roto rooter treatment. :) They'll widen the sinus openings. I'm scheduled for endoscopic sinus surgery in two weeks. If it's going to help, I'm all for it. I've had colds, flus and sinus infections chronically for years and the worst is that my stuffy sinuses trigger migraine headaches regularly. I hope this is going to work. Has anyone out there had this type of surgery? If so, did it help you out any?

1. I've known people who had it
It won't make your day, but you'll have significant improvement after it's done and the recovery period is over.

In fact, you'll wonder why you waited so long to do it.

You'll still get colds and flu, but you won't have that awful pressure build up and then refuse to budge.

2. Significant improvement will make my day!
I've had nose surgery before, after breaking my nose in a car accident, so I know the recovery is pretty icky. I remember gauze and packing up the nose for a few days and other pretty gross details, but if the surgery helps, I'll gladly go through that again. Happy to hear it helped the people you knew. Thanks.

3. Ho OnionPatch, I've been waiting for you to let us know how
you are doing. Last post was before your sinus surgery. I think there is some funny parallel between us, between the foot problems and the nose/car accident/sinus agony.

I'm too old now for the surgery now, so the doc tells me but I hope if you went through with it, that things are better.

After developing a major sinus infection 4 years age, they did a cat scan on this old noggin. Doc said it was the worst repair job and resultant damage he had ever seen in a scan. Its funny that I never thought much about it all my life, just suffetred through until I developed these allergies in my late 50's or early 60's.
Enough of me, I hope you are on the mend and that you can breathe again. I have little sympathy for someone who has a "stuffy nose", they don't know the half of it.

4. I got the burning done, took about 7 weeks to heal
I thought it was a failure but took that long for the swelling to go down, seemed to help although once a year I still get an infection.

Good luck!
