Tigers starting to heat up!
This will probably be their first winning season since 1993.

AND they're missing their two best hitters, one for the entire year so far.

When Ordonez and Guillen come off the DL, their entire lineup minus Craig Monroe will be hitting .300 (provided Dmitri Young breaks out of his slump.)

The pitching has been much better than expected, too. Dave Dombrowski has really turned this team around. Two seasons ago, the Tigers were the worst team in AL history. Now they may be in the playoff hunt.

Dombrowski signed Pudge Rodriguez, Magglio Ordonez, Rondell White, Craig Monroe, Jason Johnson and Troy Percival. He traded for Placido Polanco, Carlos Guillen, Jeremy Bonderman, Carlos Pena, Kyle Farnsworth, Franklyn German and Nate Robertson. And he did it all without giving up anybody valuable to the organization. He snagged Chris Shelton, Chris Spurling and Wilfredo Ledezma via the Rule V draft. And he did it all in basically two and a half years.

Plus, the minor leagues are LOADED with young pitching prospects.

I'd only be satisfied with about 85 wins this year. And that is two years removed from a 43 win season. I wouldn't be surprised if we put on a run for the wild card this year, as well.

12 years of futility are finally over!!!

2. Yeah...the BC's should have lost.
(BC's is my term for the Bite Cox when I don't feel like being vulgar)

I don't know who to root for when the Indians play the Red Sox. Both are in the Wild Card hunt.

7. Hey its not our fault
You try having your best players injuried, it stinks, and its not my fault the Yanks have had a pact with the devil since forever :D. We're still 2-3 games out of first. We would be in first place maybe if B.J Ryan knew where the plate was. Besides, I dont resent the Tigers, I want them to beat up on the Yankees.

5. Bonderman may get the Cy Young Award someday
It's been a long time coming, but Dave Dombrowski now has this team on the winning track.
