May is bike commute month in Sacramento

I did this last year, and it was great. Sure hope the rain stops and the water subsides on the American River Parkway bike trail by May, though.

Rode to work today, across the north area from Arden Arcade to South Natomas, for the first time since the rains subsided. Nice. About eight or nine miles, one way. Too bad the bike trail is flooded. When I can get out there with my digital camera, I'll post some pics.

I'm up in Humboldt County so I can't join you, but I just wanted to commisserate. I've been riding a trainer all winter because of the near constant rain. AARRGGHH!

3. The rain has stopped and the biking is great!

You can ride the bike trail all the way from Discovery Park (the confluence of the American and Sacramento Rivers) all the way to Folsom Dam now that the flooding has receded ... although the first three miles smell like dead fish.
