How about that Robbie McKuen (Tour de France)?

He goes over the handlebars in stage 1 20km from the finish, injuring his knee and wrist...then not only gets back on the bike but smokes everyone in a mad sprint to take the stage?

I watched the finish 3 times and I still don't know how he managed to work his way up from the back of the peloton.
