For those of you who haven't seen stage 4 yet: Zabriske crashed hard with 2km to go, dropping him to 9th place. Team Discovery Channel meanwhile set the record for fastest average speed in the Team Time Trial at 34 mph(!!!), and the entire race was blazing fast as the other teams struggled for the lead. Despite Zabriske's crash, Team CSC pulled a close second, only 2 seconds behind Discovery. CSC is showing itself to be the team to watch in the coming stages, as Basso, Julich and Co. are showing that Lance is going to have to work for his seventh Tour victory.
For stage 3: Boonen took first in an intimidating group of professional cycling's best sprinters. All the big sprinters were there, and it got ugly at one point when McEwen appeared to be leaning against O'Grady in an effort to hold him back. I think the judges have penalized McEwen for this really dangerous move, which could have taken the whole pack down. But at the last few seconds, Boonen came out of nowhere to shoot to the front and win the stage. It's still the early stages of the Tour, where the big names let the Sprinters have it out, but this has always been one of the most exciting parts of the Tour to watch. This year has been no exception.
