I have been smoke free for 6 months. Cold turkey, no aids. Look, if you want to quit, you can. You really have to want to quit, or you will not succeed. I know, I tried many times, but the truth is, I didn't really want to quit. So, how did I finally do it? I'll tell you. I smoked Marlboro reds for 35 years (34 actually, I quit for one year once.)
I set a date, and for me it was my 50th birthday. For about two years, I promised myself I would not smoke after age 50. I laid them down on my 50th birthday, and have not had a puff since! And it was easy! One of the things I did differently this time was how I addressed the urges. When I would get an urge to smoke, I simply told myself how proud I was that I kicked this monkeys ass! I am no longer a slave to tobacco and I have saved over $1000 since quitting!
I rewarded myself with a Harley-Davidson, and promised if I ever smoked again, I would have to give it up too! Sorry, I aint givin up the bike! Tobacco loses this one! Rock on!
