I'm pretty sure I'm smoke free now
Someone offered me a cigarette and I had no interest in it whatsoever.

First of all, I should say, I've had a somewhat unusual smoking career. I started at maybe 13 or 14, but didn't become a habitual smoker until college, and since then it has been an on and off thing. But when it's on, it's full on for several years.

I had smoked during much of the late 90s and quit around 2003. For some reason, in the fall of 2005 I started again, and since I like to stop for a beer at a bar after work, I found three bars nearby that either allowed smoking illegally or had back patios where you could smoke. (I hate the idea of standing in the street outside a bar or office smoking.) That was the problem, because I really only liked to smoke with coffee or with beer. In fact, for the last 10 years, I absolutely could not smoke unless I had either coffee or beer with it. Frankly, the taste is nasty to me and I need to wash it out of my mouth instantly.

I posted on the smoking progress thread on Oct 19, that I had gone four days, but a few days after that, I had a relapse.

I quit again, maybe a month ago. I don't know exactly when, because it's easier for me if I don't keep track.

Well, I went to one of the "smoke easies" and someone offered me a cigarette, and it just had no appeal for me whatsoever, so I didn't smoke.

Rather than go 2 or 3 years smoke free and start again, I really think this time I will never choose to start smoking again. For me, whenever I have reached this point, it has always been a stupid affirmative choice to start smoking again.

I won't do it this time.
