I've been smoke and nicotine free for 11 days. Yay!
I decided to go cold turkey in order to forgo the long drawn out withdrawal experience. My day three was excruciating! I still have cravings, but they've abated for the most part. The thing that is the most bothersome is that around 3pm for the last 4 days, I've started weeping - at my desk. It's involuntary. When does your chemistry return to normal? I'm not depressed per se, it's just that my body's chemistry is so screwed up from smoking for 23 years.

Anyone else have this experience?

I don't know what stage of your life you are in, but when I was "peri menopausal" I would cry at the drop of a hat, even when I was still smoking!! I quit a few days before you...using Wellbutrin, and sucking air through a soda straw (cut in half to cig. size) My Dad quit using this method and he swore by it. I'm either holding it in between my fingers or chewing on the end of it in my mouth (depending on how bad the craving!) I take it where ever I go. If anyone asks me about it, when I explain it they get it right away! It sits in it's "invisible" ash tray when I don't need it!!! Try it! P.S. I smoked for the last 55 yrs. of the 71 I've lived, so I know about the body chemistry thing very well!
