Green Lightening? Yes, Green Lightening During Snow/Ice Blizzard Feb. 24th
is it me or is the weather getting stranger by the year.

last saturday night when i was driving home from seeing a play (after clearing about an inch of ice off my car windows and trying to maneuver the unplowed roads) i saw a green flash. i thought it was some type of emergency vehicle flashing a green light because of the blinding snowstorm but my daughter, who was in the car with me, said it was lightening. then it dawned on me that there were no other cars around me on the road.

now we're getting a thunderstorm with lots of lightening -- with a ton of snow still on the ground from the other day.

i wish we could go back to the days when "severe" weather (such as tornadoes and thunderstorms) didn't happen until spring was underway.

1. Life is getting pretty exciting, isn't it?
I think it was a first last week when there were places under simultaneous warnings for blizzard and tornadoes last week!

2. lightining in winter
is not all that uncommon. it looks 'green' due to the light refracting off the snow differently than it would rain. when a low pressure system deepens rapidly "bombs out" you often get lighting, even in winter.

3. I like thundersnows
It usually meant we'd be buried under deeper snow. I can say that now that I'm in a much warmer climate.
