TROPICAL DEPRESSION FOUR STRENGTHENS THIS MORNING...AND IS NOW THE
TROPICAL STORM DEAN. AT 11 AM...DEAN WAS LOCATED MIDWAY BETWEEN
AFRICA AND THE LESSER ANTILLES...ACROSS THE CENTRAL ATLANTIC...NEAR
11.7 NORTH...39.4 WEST. ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS ARE FAVORABLE FOR
GRADUAL STRENGTHENING DURING THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS...WITH MORE
SIGNIFICANT STRENGTHENING THEN POSSIBLE AS IT CONTINUES TOWARDS THE
EASTERN CARIBBEAN. THIS SYSTEM IS FORECAST TO ENTER THE NORTHEAST
CARIBBEAN EARLY SATURDAY AS A HURRICANE...AND ALL INTERESTS ACROSS
THE REGION SHOULD KEEP ABREAST OF THE EVOLVING FORECASTS WITH THIS
TROPICAL SYSTEM.

The runs are all over the place still. Yesterday it was east coast, this morning Florida and the midday has it in the GOM towards Texas. Until it gets to the islands, it's gonna be back and forth track runs. If I were in the islands, I would be sweating it now. The US won't get a good bead on it until recon goes in.

Next, I bet. HH are in the GOM storm right now. I'm betting that it'll be upgraded to TD by the 5PM update, or, at latest, by 11.

I hope Texas is paying attention. Not a whole lot of prep time. Gas is gonna go back up.

5. Hammering Jamaica

I've been listening to Nationwide Radio this afternoon and evening. They have streaming audio from Jamaica.

These folks are doing an awesome job calming the people calling into the program. I really hope they all get through this safely. They are truly beautiful people.
