Any thoughts on FTM2008?

Myself: Where they clearly are going with it looks promising but the execution, I don't know, leaves me cold. Particularly the new interface (btw, why can't software makers simply IMPROVE the feature without "rearranging the furniture," so to speak???).

I do like the fact that you can search more than just Ancestry.com for information, and the text-grabber has potential. But you really feel clobbered by the new features.

What was your learning curve on this one?

The reviews on Amazon were horrible so I've held off.

2. I'm a Legacy Fan!

Especially since I always put my research on the web.

3. I'm still on FTM version 6

I wasn't happy that it was so inflexible and they wanted upgrades more often than I had cash. So I switched to Master Genealogist. I keep them both on my computer - kind of a legacy thing, I guess.

If someone gave me a good reason to switch to the latest FTM, I might, only because I like the old FTM interface much better.

but had been thinking of upgrading. Guess I need to do some research on this new version before I make any purchases.
