DNA Testing
As I posted before our Surname was acquired by our earliest ancestor to America because he was an orphan and did not know his parents.

Well we have a surname list at rootsweb. We all chipped in and paid for the 37 marker DNA test. $260. We had it sent to our oldest relative 92 years old in Canada....I can't wait for the results. FamilyTreeDNA is doing the testing. They said they will check out the results and post the names of the matches.

What they do is post the bar code with the markers say from the most markers to the lowest markers. Then they list the names that match they do not give you the individual person only the last names of matches. But that's a start...and we researchers can't wait.

2. This test is 259 +4 handling. According to Family Tree
Our webmaster paid thru her credit card. I initiated the process and got the email back with the prices...Maybe because we have absolutely no surnames in this group. I don't know but that's what they sent me back. And that's what the webmaster paid.

The family is having fun with this. This company has a genealogy map that you can maintain and solicit family donors. Then you can hunt for matches within the database on your own.
