If you can find the people you're looking for listed, you can order their will, surrogate papers, or other stuff. I've ordered several and got them in a reasonable amount of time with no problem. Some of the will are apparently already transcribed and posted somewhere on rootsweb so you might get lucky and find them free. The price on Sampubco has definitely gone up but it's still cheaper than gas to drive to the coast so you might want to take a look.

1. I used him to get two wills....

and that helped me find two really obscure lines.

If you can get past ALL THE FREAKING RULES on his site, he can be very helpful. But he seems to be very full of himself.

One of my cousins who is a certified genealogist has met him and says he's very tiresome and tedious.
