Happy, happy, happy!
I've been in contact with 3 cousins I didn't know I had, and one of them is sending me a book he wrote about the family, starting with my g.g.grandfather, who was born in 1776. I am so stoked! The other's are sending me old family pictures.

If that wasn't good enough, I found early postcards of my hometown and my dad's hometown. Life is good!

I still haven't solved the problem of the identities of 2 grandmothers and one grandfather, but I'm not giving up on them.

1. Hey - congrats!
I've had similar luck on occasion myself and always appreciate finding cousins interested in the same family. Two head are better than one when it comes to research.

2. Thanks!
I got the book (CD), and have already made some really interesting discoveries, including hints about who one of my grandmother's might be. I also found out who my father is named for.
In addition, I've found out I'm probably related to everyone in Va, one way or the other! lol!

3. Well, then, hi cuz! I had kin in VA, too
It's fun when you start digging up all the surnames in the family tree. I used to work in retail, and every once in a while some client would come in with an oddish surname that I had on my family tree. We'd do some relative comparing and figure out we were somehow related 4 or 5 generations back.

We really ARE all related. :D
