my grandfather was a Hessian...

...I just found out that my (7xs removed) grandfather *Gottlieb Westfall* was a German Hessian who came to the colonies to fight in the Revolutionary War. Once here, he defected and settled in Pennsylvannia. I am so delighted by that little tidbit! (my daughter has been doing research)
