I'd like to share a unique family photo.
It's my gg grandmother's funeral from 1908. The family never had a photo made of her until this one. My gg grandfather is the tall man with his hand on the casket and my g grandmother is the one with her hands on the boy's shoulders.

1. Now THAT is an interesting piece of history!
Looks like something that would have been in that book "Wisconsin Death Trip" I saw when I was up there last.

I always wondered what my "Kloth" grandmother looked like. I ended up connecting with two of my 3rd cousins through the internet, both of whom were descended through her 2 sisters.

They each sent me photos of their ancestors, Catharina and Dorothea, and I began looking through the un-ID'd photos I'd inherited from my aunt.

There was one we had of a large funeral wreath, and a small photo of a lady adorned the top. I blew the photo up, and this lady was unmistakably related to the other two. I finally had a photo of Anna Kloth.

3. Wow. That's a great find for you.
And a smart way to find out.
I was thinking that this photo might freak some out but decided to post it because it's so unusual (although not unusual for the time period).

5. My grandmother has several funereal photos.
They used to freak me out, but now I understand they're a valuable resource. As long as someone can explain or has recorded who's in them.
