all i know
My Grandfather, Cleofas Jimenes Ortega was born in Teocaltitan-Ja Los-Totitalan-Jalisco (I hope this is the correct spelling) His birthdate is April 10th 1906...his fathers names was Estanislado and his mothers maiden name was Juana Jimenes.
My grandfather alternately claimed to be Apache or Yaqui. The Family is still not sure about this. I'd like to find out
My Grandmother, Victoria Gama Ortega, was born December 12, 1905. She was born in the same town as my grandfather; Teocaltitan, Jalisco. Her fathers name was Alejandro Gama and her mothers maiden name was Lena Granados.
They both lived for many years in El Monte, California. Raised They're families and passed away.

any advice on how to find out more...

1. Hmm... I would try this site:
http://www.accessgenealogy.com/native/

Although I've not used it, it appears to have quite a bit about Native-American genealogy. Also, try a google search for southwest tribe genealogy sites.
