That makes me so mad because if there's a tolerance point, a test, then so many of those vile, vicious, threatening Obama people should've been kicked off long ago.

9. Some answers

A PM = Private Message. It's a way to send "email" if you will to other DU members (if you look at the row of icons at the top of the page, your Inbox is up there). That's what the little envelope icon next to people's names is. Not everyone has this feature enabled, but it's set to be on by default.

"Tombstoned" is a bit of DU-specific slang that means someone's been banned from the site. People use it because when someone has been banned from DU, if you click on their profile there's a picture of a tombstone in place of their avatar that reads "Here lies a disruptor, he disrupted...poorly". Saying someone got Tombstoned is a long running joke on DU. Other euphemisms for getting banned are references to pizza (after the Tombstone brand of frozen pizza), granite cookies, etc.

10. As an update

liberalnurse was one of the folks I had on my buddy list from way back. We live close in Ohio, agree on many things, and have fought like cats and dogs on tasers.

That said, I tried very hard to PM her a few warnings, but I saw she was done...done...done. She was done being nice, she was done being shat on, she was completely done with DU and NOTHING I sent her was going to change that.

Sometimes I wonder if the anonymity of the internet will be the eventual downfall of civilization. Sigh...no way would 90% of the folks posting the nastiest of things say those things out loud, face to face. Right now, I have sent a personal apology to a DU'er because I had bad information, was completely bamboozled, and THOUGHT I was protecting a Hillary supporter. Turned out I was wrong. I would prefer to say I am sorry in person, because it MEANS more that way...does that make sense? Instead, I sent a PM and hope it is enough, but wonder if it will be.

I now go to the kitchen for dark, dark super dark at LEAST 73% or better, dark chocolate...just a taste mind you...cause it is really all I need.

And I am a nurse. And I always liked her. We saw eye to eye on alot. Esp. when it came to the health care crisis.

and that never had us putting each other on ignore...we just agreed to disagree and kept on going!

She worked her ass off in 2006 over Dayton way for local Dem candidates and kept us posted all the way in the Ohio forum. She took leaves of absence to work on statewide Dem candidates campaigns...she was a serious on the ground die hard Dem.


I will be looking for her out on the internet..I know she is there...I am wading through years of sent Email (yeah I am lazy about my Sent Items folder) to find her Email address.

would constitute how someone gets barred from this forum. I can understand if a threat is made against another member of the forum but is it not just as bad when an obama supporter calls me a bigot and a racist and other vile names? I am sure many hrc supporters have been called these and other vile names as well.There is no consistency in this forum when one group gains the support of the moderators and others have to "play nice" or be banned.
