I posted earlier today in the main forum: Can I ask a question?
I saw a great toon that I dare not post here, because some readers tend to pour gasoline over their heads if they see a toon they don't like, so let me ask a question. Of course, you're free to pour that gas anyway - or - you could answer the question.

When the Duke rape case come up, Obama didn't think we needed to have a "frank talk" about race.

When the Jena 6 had that little noose problem in Louisiana, Obama didn't think we needed to have a "frank talk" about race.

But when his pastor made the news, Obama thought it was high time we had a "frank talk" about race. Can anyone from the obama side explain his timing? Also, why obama for a year told the media and us that he never was in any sermon that pastor wright spoke anti white, anti Jew, anti Israel sermons, but during his "frank talk" about race last Tuesday obama said, “Did I ever hear him make remarks that could be considered controversial while I sat in church? Yes,” Explain why you are still supporting him.

1. He also blatantly ignored the racism of Katrina
Obama only gives a shit about race when it's politically convenient for him, which is why pretty much all of the old guard CBC doesn't support him.

Most of the people my age are falling for it, but not me.

2. Because he is what many are -
self serving and arrogant. He believes he is owed something and walks around with a chip on his shoulder but has mastered the art of playing the wise and liberated victim.

4. It is so obvious that his speech was self-serving and an about-face,
but the media has helped him smooth it all over. The ongoing celebration about Hillary's goof on the Bosnia landing (hello, there was a possibility of gunfire) is beyond belief after what they have swept under the rug for Obama.

I said a million times that they were looking for an excuse to turn the Wright fiasco into a Hillary dirty campaign story and that's why she kept out of it. When she finally answered a simple question about three weeks later with the most innocuous answer she could muster, they still jumped on it and blasted her for dirty tactics.

Our "party leaders" must be watching TV to get an understanding of how the race is going, since they seem to be letting all the Obama fiascos slide also. They will get a rude awakening when they turn on the evening news the day after they install Obama.

5. And some replied that he did express an opinion about these other two events
I was not aware of them, however my response was that, of course, with Rev. Wright being his pastor for 20 years, who officiated on his marriage, etc., that he had a direct tie to him but not to the others.

And while African Americans may have wanted Obama to comment on the other two events - if he had not - explaining his view on Rev. Wright was crucial to save his candidacy. And it may have not. I think that in many yes he is now the black candidate, not the candidate who happen to be black. He got most of his votes from Independent and Republicans. I doubt that they will be there for him in November.

6. All of Obamas most fanatical white supporters
are merely life-long tacit racists at worst, those who always ignored the plight of minorities at best.

Being Pro- Obama is their way of buying off that racist past, at ZERO COST, while applauding themselves as "Progressive". It is, in fact, reverse TOKENISM. By supporting Obama, they all convince themselves they are good latte liberals, behind the Black man; however, try discussing the plight of minorities in this Nation and they will immediately ignore or take an adverse position to that of minorities. The more fanatical they are, the more they prove how good they are.

We have a Black candidate with whom many whites can identify. This is an opportunity for them all to prove how un-racist they are. This thinking promotes racism because our Country's sytemic racism persists, while these idiots slap themselves on the back for their being so liberal.

I went at that idiot BONOBO tonight who had the gall to post about his encounter with a Black woman in an elevator. Can you imagine this tool actually wrote he had to ride over to the next town to actually see a Black woman? This is the typical white Obamite. Blind as lemmings to their own caricature of latte liberals.

I can't stand these oblivious fools.

7. I saw that post. And was amazed at the accolades that he got
and I agree with you that many of the wealthy whites pat themselves on the back about oh how liberals they are by supporting Obama.

And this is why Ferraro was so right in her comments. Certainly Oprah would not have gone rallying the troops saying that "our time has come" and by "our" she certainly was not thinking of the poor or the sick.
