Okay, Clinton supporters, you MAY have a new convert here
Bear in mind, I will always support John Edwards and what he stands for. If my state (MD) shows Hillary with a large lead (no polling there yet) I will vote for John in the primaries. But I hope Hillary wins the nomination.

I've been leaning towards her since John bowed out (and make no mistake, if he hadn't I'd still be supporting him actively). But tonight's Town Hall meeting pushed me all the way. I watched it because it wasn't just another campaign speech. No matter what anyone says, those answers weren't rehearsed, although she did know her stuff. I hope she wins the nomination.

1. Yay, NastyRiffraff
Welcome...She does know her stuff.

There's so much shit thrown at her it's hard to see the real person but I've been reading about her and there really is a lot that is admirable about her.

If she does win, I have no doubt she will work hard to help those who John cared most about, those who are given the short end of the stick in this country.

5. Another JE supporter who needs a hug......:)
I was surprised I found myself rooting for Hillary last night, especially happy to see her beat the Kennedys, Kerrys and Oprah !

What's funny, Jack Nicholson's endorsement may have clinched the deal for me :D

I've also found myself defending her on DU. Those Obama people, sigh, like being pecked to death by a duck....lol.

6. Hey Catch!
((((((Catchawave)))))))

Big hugs to you! So, here we are, on the same team. :)

A few months ago, I would have never thought I'd be such a big Clinton advocate as I've become now. I must say the ridiculous attacks she endures out in GD-P helped push me more firmly into her camp but my decision to educate myself about her helped as well.

Oh, and Jack didn't hurt either. :)

Welcome....It's quiet in here but maybe if more show up we can get more activity going.....

7. Thanks Carol !
John doesn't want to endorse anyone so we can make up our own minds. I do think most of us are leaning Hillary because we just don't trust the other guy. :hi:

I am sending a small contribution. I hope others do the same. She is in money trouble.
Don't know how I end up with the candidates that have money trouble, but here I am.

9. As an Edwards supporter I was impressed by Hillary's tribute
John Edwards ended his campaign today in the same way he started it - by standing with the people who are too often left behind and nearly always left out of our national debate.

John ran with compassion and conviction and lifted this campaign with his deep concern for the daily lives of the American people. That is what this election is about - it's about our people. And John is one of the greatest champions the American people could ask for.

I wish John and Elizabeth all the best. They have my great personal respect and gratitude. And I know they will continue to fight passionately for the country and the people they love so deeply.

If Obama made a similar statement, I am unable to find it at his site.

If I do not vote for Edwards in my primary, I will be supporting Clinton.

10. I think Hillary is vastly underestimated.
I'm going with the Bartcop Rule: "It's always a mistake to bet against a Clinton." :-)

11. Exactly.
She's my candidate of choice.

A Clinton in office was good for me before. I'm hoping it'll bring similar luck this time around.

12. She's an incredibly smart lady
Unlike the current crop of bozos in charge.

My favorite "blonde joke:"

What do you call a smart blonde?
Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-NY!

13. I'll have to remember that one!
My daughter is seven and is a blonde (with pale red highlights). She is so excited about this campaign.

The other day Hillary was on the news. My daughter turned to me and said that she wants to be the president when grows up. When I asked her why she said it's because she wants to be just like Hillary.

I think I have a smart kid.

That's fabulous.

Shirley Chisholm was a childhood heroine of mine, too.

15. My role model as a child wasn't political
but she still made history. (Sally Ride)

I've said it before on the boards that my seven year old finally sees that politics can be a place for women. Instead of agreeing with me some posters would rather call me a racist.

Don't they see that you can support someone else but still be excited about history in the making? Some of the comments in GDP have made me realize that we haven't come quite as far as I'd hoped in reference to the treatment of women.

17. Welcome to everyone....
It's great to have a little action in here....

I came to Clinton by way of Wes Clark. I didn't automatically support her when he endorsed. I had to get over my grief at his not running before I could think about who I might want to support but seeing her on stage with him at a Town Hall in Manhattan made me feel better about his endorsement and then I started learning more about Hillary and it goes on from there...

19. Count me as another Edwards supporter
now supporting Hillary. I will caucus for her at the Maine caucuses on Sunday. From what I can see she is the better candidate on policies I care about like health care and she appears to be better informed. Plus, I feel much more confident in Hillary's ability to take on the job and govern effectively from day one than i do with Obama. Go Hillary go!!!

20. Interesting how many Edwards supporters
seem to be choosing Hillary over Obama. The CW seemed to be that most would go to Obama, but I think that those of us here on this thread anyway run counter to that notion.
