I met George McGovern today and had a wonderful experience ruined by a self styled
"Obama Momma" as she called herself.Sen. McGovern spoke of his support for Hillary and reminiced about she and Bill campaigning for him in Texas in 1972.He reaffirimed his loyalty to her .And the BO Momma stood up and said that she observed there were remarkable similarities between Barack Obama and Sen.McGovern! She then asked that since Hillary was going to "lose Texas and Ohio" would he agree to be the elder statesman that would tell her to concede because Obama is going to win? He said he would not.He said he would rather fight the Nazis again than do such a thing!

I thought it was the most classless display I have ever seen. She didn't have any comprehension of how offensive she was! I was absolutely disgusted. But this is typical.

1. I've read that BO's supporters have been invading Clinton rallies
Is this true? I've only read things here and there on DU that make it sound as if Obama's supporters are going to Clinton rallies and being disruptive. Of course they have every right to go to her rallies but to be an ass is another thing completely.

What have you heard?

2. I haven't heard anything but they are rude enough to do so.This wasn't a rally
it was just a speaking engagement at a college. And the question was inappropriate. It was almost as though the Obama Momma felt she could "bully" McGovern into her thinking.
In the interest of full disclosure, at the beginning of the primary process I questioned wether McGovern knew what he was doing in endorsing Hillary considering his own stand on Iraq and other issues. He certainly does, and it is a reflection of the quality of loyalty that McGovern still feels to Hillary that he endorsed her despite differnces they may have.He even had a list of things he would like forher to address differntly but there was no question that he remeberher support and the support BIll gave him on poverty when he was president. McGovern knows his history and what it is to be loyal which is a concept these folks just can't grasp!

3. Thanks
I wish I could remember where I was reading posts saying something about Obama supporters disrupting. With all the accusations flying around during this primary, I don't know if it was true or not.

6. There was that rude student in Madison WI who attacked Chelsea personally
for her mom's vote.

Many here on DU thought it was just great. recall the 3 plus days of slim threads here!!

...............

I endorse Hillary because of her strenghts--she has faults --we know them.
The problem with Obama is that the media seldom points them out. He is an 'unknown' in that sense. Too risky for me.

........ssues.He certainly does, and it is a reflection of the quality of loyalty that McGovern still feels to Hillary that he endorsed her despite differnces they may have........

4. Oh, good for Senator McGovern!
I love him. I'm glad he held his ground....

How rude of that woman...but not unexpectedly so, unfortunately. :(

7. these people are really clueless
reminds me of the asshole who argued with Bill Clinton a few weeks back. I said it before and I will say it again. Obama's meta-message is what is driving these people to act so irrationally and down right DISRESPECTFUL. and without respect you have nothing, nada, zilch, zippo.

and to think all these years we watched in utter astonishment at the way the bushbots just backed him up no matter what and here we are experiencing the same damn thing.

8. Because
that's exactly the sort of supporter you get for a "leader".

Hillary is running as a "public servant'. That's why McGovern endorses Hillary.

He's no fool
