It occurred to me that many of these new political participants are recently out of high school and that the social dynamics of HS might still be driving their thinking. I recall that thinking being absolute with no understanding of what is generally called "shades of grey." In that mindset, the cool kids are desirable and the misfits are not and there is no compromising that. Anyone choosing to hang around with the outcastes must be of questionable sanity. So if O is the cool kid and HC has been labeled undesirable from 16 years of media hatred, then one has to be delusional to side with her.

had 3 months of HS, and I speak about 15 sentences a week, total, to people, so I'm not the best judge of such matters.
