She got it from the CA campaign and asked me to post it here:
Dear Hillary Supporter,
The news on the ground here in Houston, Texas is great!! There are three of us
in
Houston Texas working very hard with hundreds of others from around the country.
It is
an extraordinary experience that is hard to put into words but here goes...
Our first day was full of visibility at the Houston rodeo parade. Roxie, Danyel
and I and
lots of other Hillary volunteers really worked the crowd giving out stickers and
signs.
This was a very Texas event with tons of support for Hillary and no Obama people
in
sight!
Then we did a HILLARY MARCH FROM TEXAS TO WASHINGTON down the main streets of
Houston with DOLORES HUERTA. We were marching to get press and to help get out
the
vote for Hillary. California Congresswoman Hilda Solis also joined us. There was
great
local press for this and a lot of honking from the cars. We all did a lot of
chanting and
screaming... great fun and a good release.
Other volunteers were back at the Headquarters making calls or doing canvassing.
We
ended up making calls at headquarters and meeting SF Mayor Gavin Newsom who was
traveling around Texas speaking for Hillary. Then off to an event with Chelsea
who was a
bright and charming young woman.
Today we staffed an event with President Bill Clinton at a park in an Hispanic
part of
town working to educate voters about what is called the "Texas Two Step" (voting
twice in
the primary and the caucus that night). Hillary just got the endorsement of
General Hugh
Shelton (Ret.) and "Working Girl" star Melanie Griffith. At a "Women for
Hillary" rally, I had
the good fortune of meeting several African American women from Chicago
supporting
Hillary (one who preceeded Obama as State Senator, Alice Palmer). These women
all had
many "interesting" stories regarding Obama's record and were all there to show
their
support for Hillary!
Then we went to the Gay Clubs for their Hillary rallies. This featured prominent
Houston
LGBT community leaders along with Robert Gant (Queer as Folk) and Gavin Newsom
working to recruit precinct captains. Tomorrow it heats up big time with more
training on
caucuses (called precincts here).
No doubt we are all tired, but FIRED UP and convinced TX (and OH) will deliver a
win for
Hillary.
This is FAR from over no matter what the press says. Obama has 1,370 delegates
to
Clinton's 1,274 delegates. That is less than 100! Winning Texas and Ohio is
going to
make a huge difference. You could be a part of dramatically reshaping this race.
We need YOUR help now. Please make calls to Texas and help to educate Hillary
supporters about the two-step voting process.
Two days and counting ...
Go Hillary!
