Good God, I can't stand it in GD:P anymore.
I've been reading the board today, and it's just VILE. And we're so outnumbered... probably because many Hillary supporters are already avoiding that forum. Anything said by a Hillary supporter is immediately dogpiled by a bunch of Obamabots. It's SICKENING. They're working an angle of intimidation and bullying now, it's very clear.

Part of me keeps going back there because more casual readers need to know that she has good solid Democratic progressive support out there, and that not all of us are falling for Obama's lofty rhetoric. I also think it's important to challenge certain points, like the endless "she's just a WIFE!" and "what has she ever done?" threads.

But today, ugh. What's the point? We should all just stop even going to that forum and let them have their big circle jerk. If I know anything about politics and message boards, they'll start fighting amongst themselves if they don't have Hillary supporters to gang up on constantly.

1. Here's how I've been doing for weeks now: check only the threads of Hill supporters
K&R them, then get out. Never open the poisonous packages!

2. I am actually rather stunned today. I shouldn't be and it's rare that I am

but Christ, that is such a level of ugliness that I physically backed away from the screen in my chair. Nonconformist, you were with Edwards too, right? We're in the same boat, I think. I think there was some kind of tipping point, where more and more of the good Clinton posters were driven away and/or decided they were tired of being abused, and so GDP devolved into this spiral of venom.

I don't understand what's happened here. I don't quite understand why it's permitted.

On the other hand, I think you're correct: that kind of bullying dogpile dynamic turns on itself, in time. It's inevitable.

But I don't think I was ever as taken aback as I was today. I've purposely stayed away from DU for the last week, and even in that short period of time, I notice a difference. It's hard to see posters I've admired for so long participate in the viciousness.

It makes me wonder: what kind of society do these people want, anyway?

On edit: I've never really been in this forum before, and now after looking around, I'm also a little shocked that there are more than a few posters essentially saying the exact same thing I'm saying above. It's nice to know I'm not alone, though. Sometimes, lately, I feel like I'm in a weird Twilight Zone episode.

6. Yep, I used to be an Edwards supporter.
What a ride this primary has been! I've said before that I think this primary takes on a unique level of suckage for those of us who backed Edwards and switched to Hillary after he dropped.

I sure wish he'd endorse her. I know it's petty, but one of the reasons I would love it is to shove it in the Obama cult's faces. You can only handle your head held in the mud for so long. Everyone has their breaking point... I think I've reached mine.

4. I've had the same person
argue with me for the past two days. He's decided that a US Rep from KC, Emmanuel Cleaver, is a liar. The poster knows for certain that Cleaver has never been intimidated by the Obama camp-especially Rep Clay and Jackson Jr. He's also stated that my local newspaper, the KC Star, has no clue what they are talking about and repeatedly posts the same tired old article-which supposedly proves that Cleaver was never threatened.

I'm so tired of them all yet there is no way I'll let this one die down. Sit back, make a hot cup of tea-I'm not giving up my argument. I don't give a shit if this same thread is going a month from now. I am just not going to allow that poster to call Cleaver a fucking liar all because he doesn't like to think about Obama's thugs threatening a Methodist minister.

5. I refuse to go anymore
I just won't, I don't care WHAT'S going on over there, WHO is posting. It simply isn't worth it. The mods do nothing, the sky's the limit, anything can be said to a Clinton supporter, but DARE tread on an Obamabot and you'll be TS'ed, no doubt. Something akin to MSNBC.

And the theory they will eat themselves is correct. If any sane rational person stays out of there, they will have no one to spew their venom on, and naturally turn on each other. I want to see that, so I stay out of GDP, so I dont get TS'ed. Because if I start reading it, my anger will boil over and...I will say something I will regret.

I don't know what's happening HERE and in this country, but the bots or pods have taken over and I find it all frightening. There's an article on HuffPo about people planning riots at the convention chock full of violence. What is going on?

7. Yeah, and believe it or not but FOX NEWS called out Huffpo on their spew.
Like others, I pop into GDP just to bump pro-Hillary threads for about 20 minutes each day.

I have taken to ignoring certain posters for thread-starting because they are just so damned consistently poisonous. I look at their replies in threads but just won't open the crud anymore. Let them eat their own.

They are only this venomous because their guy is starting to be vetted.
