"Obama's black support shows its limits" -- AP via Yahoo

Bositis said it was unclear whether Obama's black support is driving some working-class whites into Clinton's corner, but he noted the steep drop in Obama's share of the white vote in Ohio compared to Wisconsin. One possible factor other than race, Bositis said, was Clinton's strong support within the Ohio Democratic establishment, starting with the governor.

One thing is not in doubt: Obama's candidacy and the closeness of the contest are triggering record turnout among black voters. "In many states, the black vote has doubled," Bositis said.

Similar turnout in Philadelphia's black neighborhoods could help Obama next month. But he would have to make deeper inroads into Pennsylvania's white electorate than he did in Ohio if he is to avoid another solid defeat.

Meanwhile, Clinton continues to draw about 10 percent to 20 percent of black voters, who sometimes have to defend their choice.

My comment is only that it is obvious that blacks are voting for him because he is black. To feel some resentment is natural, not racist. They are practicing a sort of reverse racism and nobody cares to challenge it. To criticize non-blacks for reacting to this is hypocritical.

This is one of the things I was worried about when the BO campaign pulled the race card in South Carolina, and the MSM pukes rallied behind him. I likened it to the animosity that the OJ Simpson trial caused. Add in the not-so-gentle arm twisting of the black supers and we have a recipe for disaster. The few blacks that have stepped up to the plate in an attempt to diffuse this yet to explode situation have been threatened and piled upon by BO supporters, including the thug-ugly Bill Bradley, BO's latest hanger on.

edit to add--if this hasn't been posted in GD-P, feel free if you have time to defend. I only stay a little while these days, just pop in and out for 20 minutes or so.

1. Not every black person is voting for him simply because he's black.

Some genuinely prefer him. Hell if I know why, but there you are. Of course there are some blacks who are voting for him because of his race, but no more so than there are women voting for Clinton because of her gender. Our community is a lot more divided over this election than the media is portraying. Obama's supporters are engaging in some reprehensible shit trying to chip away at Clinton's black female support, I know because I've been the target of it. But it is still there despite what the media would have you believe.

This is a complex issue and throwing out "reverse racism", one of the dumbest terms in the English language, is not really helping things.

2. Even If They Are, So What?
Honestly, I see both candidates as fairly equal, except Hillary will have a lot more backbone and be more effective.

It's their negatives that I feel are equal. Hillary brings the DLC with her, while Obama's a n00b.

Anyway, the trouble isn't blacks voting for Obama, it's blacks *pressuring* other blacks to do the same. It's the Obama campaign using racism to peel black voters away from Hillary, while they attack the voicing of any idea that women might want to vote for Hillary.

3. I don't mean to cause any trouble here but I stand by what I said.
I don't think every black is voting for him because he's black but you can't say that the BO campaign isn't playing it that way. They act as if, and there's been plenty of evidence, that he needs to be supported because of it.

"Reverse racism" is not my term; it's been around awhile.

Do you remember the OJ Simpson trial. When the verdict came in, there were cameras at Howard Univ. of cheering students. It did not sit well with non-blacks.

I think the article is speaking of potential backlash and I do not think the backlash will be because he is black, but because of the way he assumes he has the black vote because he is black, and gets it.

People aren't all saints. They may not be racist but it still gets someone's back up to feel racial assumptions being applied one-handedly. (I don't know if you can make any sense of that but I did try to express what I meant.)

5. There is nothing "Reverse racism" about it, it's just straight up Racism and should be noted...
...if not straight up called out!

I'm thoroughly disgusted at the way the Obama people are getting a free pass on this issue. I call it Neo-racism and the people, like Jessie Jackson Jr., who are using this tactic, I call neo-racists.

(note: I haven't used the term here yet, I don't have that much free time to kill this week)
