I've been thinking about it, and have come to the conclusion that there's no chance of discussion or civil discourse on GDP. There are some thoughtful Obama supporters here, but just a quick look at the topic page tells you they're being drowned out by the haters. At this point, I don't care if they're trolls or long-time DUers; the effect is the same.

Why not leave them to it, and let GDP become an echo chamber for their vitrol and hate? I intend to. They won't miss me, and I most certainly won't miss them. However, if all or most of us leave GDP, who will they have left to insult?

DU will NEVER see another donation from me. I refused to donate during the Valentine's Day fundraiser because all of the trash the Admins and mods were allowing to be posted. Then they tombstoned a bunch of the worst and I donated $50 ... because I thought they were upping the standards and going to enforce the rules.!! It's only gotten worse.

I did this right from the place where it said "deleted". All I saw was tomb stones.

If you go to the site where it says "deleted" and check the profiles, all you see is a tomb stone. But if you WRITE in the name of the poster, you do NOT see a tombstone. So I don't know what the truth is. :shrug:

I know that many of us have stopped replying to most of their crap, but we must continue to alert on those 'freeper-like' attacks. The Admins and mods appear unwilling to enforce the rules unless they are compelled to confront it.

16. I was ready to give up on DU

until I saw the Hillary forum. A week or so ago I was furious to read where a poster(Lerkfish) was bragging that he and other BO followers had ganged up on Proud2BAmerican and had gotten him tombstoned and what was more, anyone else who cared to tangle with the BOers on this board could expect the same treatment. I alerted the mod but don't know that he was given a time out. As far as I know only the offending post was removed.As for donating to DU in the future I will rethink that before the next donation period.
