5000739, New poll shows that voters trust President Hillary Clinton to fix the economy.

Rasmussen Reports has done two polls, asking voters which Presidential candidate they trust most to deal with the major issues facing America.

The results of the McCain v Obama poll were published on February 27th.

The results of the McCain v Clinton poll are published today (March 10th).

Here is my summary of the main findings (you can see the numbers below):

1. Hillary Clinton beats John McCain on the Economy and Taxes. McCain beats Obama on both of these issues.

2. Hillary does better than Obama on National Security and Iraq, although McCain leads both Democrats on these issues.

3. The one issue where Obama is way out in front is when people were asked who would do most to reduce corruption in the federal government. But you have to remember that the Obama poll was done back in February, when most Americans had never heard the name "Rezco".

I can't help but be reminded of the stories about Bill Clinton's successful Presidential campaign back in 1992, when James Carville put up a sign on the War Room wall that said "It's the economy, stupid!" B-)

Economy
Clinton 47 - McCain 41
McCain 45 - Obama 39

Taxes
Clinton 39 - McCain 37
McCain 42 - Obama 37

National Security
McCain 46 - Clinton 36
McCain 55 - Obama 30

Iraq
McCain 46 - Clinton 42
McCain 49 - Obama 39

Reducing Government Corruption
McCain 43 - Clinton 32
Obama 43 - McCain 34

7. The Repugs will try to distract from it but
the economy is going to be the number one issue on voters' minds this fall. The smart way to neutralize the "national security" issue is to emphasize the untenable economic drain which the war is causing.

Moreso than 1992, this election season reminds me of 1980. Contrary to Obama's revisionist history, Reagan was not elected because everyone hated hippies and big government. It was the economy, stupid.

CBS News/New York Times Poll
What do you think is the most important problem facing this country today?
Inflation, Prices 31%
Unemployment, Recession 8
Other economy 19
USSR (Soviet Union/Russia)/War and Peace 9
Energy 3
Iran/Terrorism 4
Other foreign policy 6
Other domestic, Taxes 4
Government, Carter 4
Other 6
No opinion 6

BO doesn't know the first thing about the economy except repeating what Hillary says. It will take a Clinton to clean up after a Bush!!
