"Obama support riding on racism" - Opinion piece in a Ugandan newspaper
From the Daily Monitor in Uganda (Mr. Mulindwa currently resides in Canada)

Obama support riding on racism

RACISM: Edward Mulindwa

After all the crisscrossing opinions about Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton, I have not failed to notice one poignant factor in all these deliberations. As Africans/Blacks, we are often ready to identify with people we think are more like us rather than with what will benefit us.

If Obama was standing for presidency in an African country, all those from his ethnic group would identify with him. In that case, we would call it tribalism.

Now that Obama is standing in USA where tribes don’t matter, we see 90 per cent of African-Americans voting for him. But rather than call it racism, we claim he is a unifier. I wonder what uniting he is doing.

Indeed he has united the African-Americans to vote for him. Does this tell us as a people and for that matter a race that there is something significantly amiss in our reading into situations? And what is more interesting is that President Bill Clinton is the first president to not only fly into Africa but he and his entire family have worked so hard to highlight problems of blacks in America.

3. Wow, great perspective

It's amazing to me how people forget just why Bill Clinton was called "the first black president." The race card Obama cynically played has labeled him, and Hillary, racists, against all common sense and knowledge.

8. Isn't that the truth. It's amazing how easily people can be led against
their own self-interest. Sure, people should support Senator Obama, if he is their choice, or even if they only want an AA president. However, they should be clear-eyed enough to see where the racism is really coming from, and it's not originating in the Clinton camp.

thanks for posting this. Calling Bill and Hillary racist was a true example of jumping the shark. (Sorry, I hate that expression, too)

Are you going to post this in GD: P

6. To be honest, probably not. I consider GD: P to be nothing more than
a circular firing squad. While I will occasionally wander in to make a random comment, or do what little I can to support someone else, it's just not me. I have an incredible temper, and I'm not particularly good at parsing my thoughts diplomatically when my hackles are raised. However, anything that I post here can be used by anyone.

9. I wonder if the obamerspammers will call this black man racist
too since he is not sucking up to the anointed one and you know he lives in Canada.

I am willing to bet 10 bucks someone does. Has this been posted in gd:p??
