Hillary in Scranton, PA for the St. Patrick's Parade

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every block was filled with people in green and so many of them with "Hillary" signs. The sun was bright by the time Hillary arrived, but the spirit was even brighter!
Hillary volunteers were handing out signs and getting people to register to vote. It was "non-stop" amount of people walking into Hillary's Scranton HQs.
Chants were yelled out at different times for Hillary. Young/old, Black/White/Asian/Indian, Male/Female - all seemed for Hillary with just a few of patches of Obama signs. Actually, I only saw 5 people with Obama signs across the street from HQs and two groups of 3 holding large Obama signs. I walked most of the parade route and was surprised with the lack of Obama support. If it was Obama walking the parade instead of HIllary, I would have been there with my homemade sign for Hillary.
This parade was an open event. Anybody could have showed up. I was shocked at the crowd. Almost all of them had HIllary stickers or signs. I hope the Hillary campaign got a lot of film coverage on this great event!!! Even the kids were chanting, "HILLARY!"
Someone said that Hillary walked Pittsburgh's St Patrick's Parade this morning. She looked like she had all the energy in the world. Her smile was geniune, bright, huge! She was in her element. It was great to see her so happy. Northeastern Pennsylvania gave the welcome Hillary Clinton deserves.
In the beginning of the parade Hillary walked in the middle of the road trying not to slow the parade down. The block where everyone performed and where the judges were on stage (near the end of the parade), Hillary did sign a few autographs and allow for some photos. It was limited because she knew she couldn't slow the parade down that much. The whole time the crowd was yelling out Hillary's name.
There was even a group of young women who started yelling out, "When we say Madame - you say PRESIDENT...Madame" ...then the crowd was yelling, "PRESIDENT!"
I was holding my heart shaped smile face. The eyes were shamrocks and the smile was the words, "Go Hillary!" I made a few more of those signs. The one had "Love Ya Hillary!" on it instead. I also made a double sided heart - green. The one side I printed, "Our Irish hearts are happy...Hillary is in town!" The back side was a big smile face. I also drew and colored in green (with some shamrocks) a life preserver with HIllary's name printed 4 times. When the cameraman was going by I was showing that sign, yelling out, "We need Hillary to rescue America!" I was also yelling that line out with "save" instead of "rescue."
After seeing Hillary walking the beginning of the parade, I ran near the end of the parade. The woman in front of me had a Hillary sign and was wearing a Nascar hat. She turned to me and said, "Hillary is the only candidate that could get us out of the mess we are in." I thought, "Wes would be able to get us out of this mess too." Once again I had my sign raised nice and high. Oh, and the woman with the Nascar hat told me later that she got to speak with Hillary. She told Hillary, "YOU ARE GOING TO WIN!" Hillary then smiled and pointed a finger at this woman and said, "It will be because of people like You!"
After Hillary walked pass me, I moved as fast as I could through the tight crowd - up to the last block of the parade. What was so neat was that a good amount of people jumped into the parade behind Hillary with their "Hillary" signs held up high. It was a reaction. They were drawn to Hillary like a magnet. One of the signs was a real big sign. People just kept jumping in and yelling at the top of their lungs for Hillary. Everybody was having a great time. It was a wonderful sight! It was so loud and so energetic! She stopped to sign a bunch of autographs at the end of the parade, but the chanting continued. I looked up at the buildings at the end of the parade. People were on balconys and pressed against windows - waving and chanting for Hillary.
It had to be an exhausting day for the Secret Service. Still - for us - it was THRILLING!
When interviewed, Gov Rendell said that Hillary and he walked the Pittsburgh parade this morning. The response was terrific, but this was in another league. He said in all his 30 some years of politics, he never saw anything like he did today, at our St. Patrick's Parade.
Our local media interviewed Hillary. They asked her how important northeastern Pennsylvania was for her to be elected. She answered with something like this: This support is very important to me, but it's important because it's so personal. This area was a place I use to spend summers at. It's like returning home to huge support and love - welcoming me back."
I was so happy for Hillary. Nobody could ever take this GREAT day away from her! I feel lucky and honored to have been part of it. I'm sitting here smiling just thinking about it.
GO HILLARY!!!!
