Looking down the road to May 13, Senator Hillary Clinton holds a huge lead over Senator Barack Obama in the West Virginia Presidential Primary. The first Rasmussen Reports telephone survey of the race shows that Clinton attracts 55% of the Likely Democratic Primary Voters while Obama is supported by 27%. Eighteen percent (18%) are not sure.

Clinton is viewed favorably by 72% of West Virginia’s Primary Voters, Obama by 53%.

By a 48% to 31% margin, the West Virginia voters believe Clinton will be the stronger general election candidate against John McCain. However, by a 47% to 35% margin, they believe Obama will win the nomination. Even 32% of Clinton voters expect Obama to be the Democratic nominee in 2008.

If Obama is nominated, just 42% of Clinton supporters say they are even somewhat likely to vote for him against McCain. Eighteen percent (18%) of Clinton voters say that they are Not Very Likely to vote for Obama and 35% say they are Not at All Likely to vote for Obama.

On the other hand, if Clinton is nominated, 57% of Obama voters are at least somewhat likely to vote for the former First Lady. ...

Funny thing is, the meme has been so pushed, that a large number still think BO will be the Dem nominee!

I'm just sorry I couldn't attend Hill's town hall meet in Charleston, WV (over an hour's drive away from me), only because I had to do unimportant stuff like, y'know, work (which I do love, actually)! If I'd known a week in advance about her visit, I would've taken the day off to see her! :D

2. The J Wright fiasco, regardless of 'the greatest speech in the universe', is not going away.

Among other issues now just coming to light! I am more and more hopeful about Hillary's chances at the nomination. John Murtha's endorsement of Hill - he's a superdelegate from PA, an anti-Iraq War hero - is also an important plus for Hillary.

was Obama even thinking to believe he was going to slide into the WH on hope and change without someone unearthing his connections to racist preachers? Whites refusing to vote for Obama now based on the fact that some of his best friends hate white people. Nothing startling in that, although Obama supporters seem to be shell shocked these days. I can't understand why though, it's not like they weren't warned that their guy wasn't perfect and impervious to rightwing attacks.

That evening, Humphrey announced that he was no longer a candidate for the presidency. Kennedy knew the nomination was his if he could hold his delegates together once they reached the convention.
