an introduction (of sorts....)
I just found the writing group about a week ago, probably the day that the long poetry thread was active in...in....whatever forum it was.

I just wanted to say hello. I've been out of the writing loop for so long -- and it's ironic, but I was starting to "wake up" and suddenly I found that long thread, which seemed to kick me. Hard. Found this group by mere luck today, so... that's all to say for now. Thank you for starting this group!

1. You're welcome, KaliTracy
That long thread that you refer to may have been in the lounge. I started a poetry thread and the damn thing got over 100 responses. Some of the people in the thread thought it would be cool to have a poetry group, so we sharpened up our pencils, came up with a mission statement and got enough paying members to sign off. And here we are. I look forward to reading your poems. I'm falling in love with poetry.

2. Sounds very much like my own situation...

I seemed to have a dead spot in the eighties and nineties..an illness allowed me to listen to the muse again...!!

3. the last ten years have been a ride -- and perhaps i will write about
some of the travels someday (I tend to need things to "perculate" a little usually). Major life change though at 35, with the birth of our son. He's almost 5 and 1/2 now...and me, I'll be 40 in July.
