sometimes i just wonder Ramon Piñero 4/16/2005
i sometimes wonder what they mean when they talk about ‘the good ‘ol days’
i sometimes wonder exactly when these days were.
i sometimes wonder if they mean way back when Beaver and Wally had no Black friends.
i sometimes wonder if they mean back when Sherriff Andy and little Opey would sit down to eat some of that great fried chicken Ain’t Bea used to make.
i sometimes wonder if it was when Laura would help Rob when he fell over the ottoman at the beginning of the Dick Van Dyke Show.
i sometimes wonder (when they talk about them good ‘ol days) if they mean the days when Bull Conners’ dogs ruled the day in Birmingham.
They could not possibly mean the good ‘ol days when those three little girls were getting ready for church and met God instead.
i sometimes wonder which of those days were the good ‘ol days.
Was it when my mother had to work in their homes making their beds cleaning their toilets or perhaps when the invisble doorman (my Dad) would open the doors and hail them a cab.
When I hear about them good ‘ol days sometimes
i just get to wondering.

We evolve throughout our life times as people. At least I think liberal minded people do. There is a certain element in our society that would like to turn us back socially to the beginning of the 20th century, but I think that the majority of the people like progress. Now if we could just get them to vote.
