and story telling by poetry.
Few will read it. The few that do will not comment on it.
Your opinion?

because I'm a regular person and I write poetry about regular people things. I'll admit that a lot of poetry is over my head, especially the stuff written by the old masters. But there are many more poems that I do understand and appreciate.
I'd hate to see the day when people stopped writing poems.
I've been sending poems to a friend of mine via e-mail. She really likes it and always reminds me to send her another poem when she writes. That makes me feel so good.

"blue-bonnets and lovely lillies", but I find that most of the people I have read to, seem to appreciate the spoken word. I am a big fan of e.e. cummings...now there was a guy who weathered blistering criticism...

I suppose if one desires to be a 'production' poet it is OK to concentrate on rime. Often times when that is done it becomes a study in correctness and any resemblance to emotion is lost.
I write very little poetry but when I do it boils forth. I write it as I think it. After all it is for me!
Good thing I do not write for a living or to please others.
Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead.

the few poems I've read of yours tonight, you have a command of the word on many levels. Don't let anyone tell you different.

As long as you (we) enjoy it, that is enough. You can't force people. When I write, though like to share it, I write for myself. I have been reading your poems here and they are terrific. They touch me.

the poem.
Are you speaking in general about poetry, or are you speaking of a forum such as this to share poetry?
