So What In The Big Book, Basic Text, Etc. Are You Most Partial To?
Me, I am of course partial to the promises in the big book, I love the chapter "We Agnostics", actually any part is good. I related to We Agnostics and still do quite a bit. I am a seeker in my spiritual life and that has become the most important part (other than of course not drinking or using) of my recovery. That has taken form in many different ways. My higher power is expressed in others; in nature; in the amazing wonders of the universe; and in just damned near everything really!

I've liked the NA Basic text and find it comforting as well, but for me the big book will always be the one that hit me first (maybe literally) as I can still recall reading the damned thing while being in the first days of recovery, and hanging on it's every word, yet wondering what the hell it was saying to me.

What speaks to you loudly right now?

2. Do Not Be Discouraged
So many things, but at some point or other, those words jumped off the page at me. No equivocation in those four words. In order to throw out discouragement, you have to throw out a whole bunch of other defeatist bullshit too. It's great!

Do Not Be Discouraged.
