Since this is a sub-board on a political board, I gotta ask,
do you find it necessary to pray for GWB? Has anyone actually found forgiveness?

I have such a huge burning resentment against the guy. For a while I used it to fuel my activism, but that stopped working and I just started to feel burnt out and apathetic from all the rage. So I started trying to pray for the guy. Couldn't do it. So I tried picturing him as a little kid and praying for that GWB. Almost could do it, but still having a hard time. And what kind of nasty human am I that I can't forgive a little kid?

7. I'd Hate To Admit This
but I watched and did nothing while friends of mine did the same thing.

I don't feel good about a lot of things I did in my life.

I dislike the hell out of Bush, and I suspect that he has deep issues, since I did by my inaction I was simply going along with a crowd. Something that is deeply woven into my character as a defect, the need for approval and to not make waves, and to go along with things I've known were wrong.

Thank goodness I have tools to change my life today. I guess I pray for Bush to find recovery and have to make amends for what he has done. That would be revenge for me.

no it doesn't negate Bush's grown up crap

I was watching the news and found it interesting that they led with the story about Barbaro being euthanized, and then went to a story about Iraq and soldiers being killed. Then to a story about injured soldiers. WTF? I mean, the horse is sad, but it shows the priorities of our media.

I'm in Ft. Smith Arkansas- straight down I 40 from New Mexico.

you are a jewel too!

11. Well, Not Too Far
135 or so miles.

Probably would be easiest to get there by going down I-40 and then turning north when you get to Arkansas.

It doesn't look like there's any major roads to get there once you get off the interstates.

It is probably in a very pretty area, near Eureka Springs, AR. It also looks like the kind or area where even the Methodists handle snakes (joking) and if you hear banjo music, well, it might just be from a music hall, or did you see Deliverance?

2. It has never crossed my mind
Then again, I live by the theory that if Jesus Himself couldn't create a peaceful planet, why should I expect it to be any different just because I'm on the planet. We're here to learn to love, and some obviously have a further way to go than others.

I also believe that there are things that are absolutely wrong and I don't need to feel guilty for discerning right from wrong. George Bush and his cronies seem pretty damn wrong to me and I don't need any anger to come to that conclusion.

OTOH, I'm not God therefore in the long term scheme of things, maybe George is right, or will be used for a higher purpose.

Somewhere in the midst of all of that, the people he has harmed need my emotional attention. Anger at him just gets in the way.

3. I have not been able to see his actions with anything other
than a mind numbing nuclear rage for a long time. I HATE him. I HATE his cronies. And that is not healthy for me. I am trying to get to a more balanced place where I can work against his policies without corroding my own soul. Hate the sin, love the sinner or something like that......

Everyone says to pray for someone you have a resentment against, therefore I pray (or attempt to) for GWB. I don't see it as trying to create a peaceful planet, just keeping my little corner of it clean.

4. Well then I'm damned confused
You HATE him and have a seething resentment, yet insist your praying is the only possible solution. Well knock yourself out but don't be rude to someone who approaches it in a different manner. If you don't want discussion, don't post threads.

5. I am sorry.
Clearly we are not communicating here. I thought we were discussing the issue. I was not meaning to be rude.

6. That's the problem.
He is a little kid. And he holds the football. Something about that is very wrong.

I pray for peace for the planet. If gw wants to come along, that's fine.
