I don't know if this is the place to post this
But several times this week while watching GWB on the news, I found myself exclaiming "Omigod, he's drunk!" That glassy-eyed stare, the way he slurs his speech, the way he moves very carefully to avoid stumbling, the nervous grimaces: he looks like a newcomer at an AA meeting. You know, the one who quit drinking 15 minutes ago...

I think almost all of us here can recognize when someone's fallen off the wagon, so I thought I'd ask you all first. Am I crazy, or has anyone else noticed as well?

Here's hoping I'm just imagining things.

3. Agree about the timeline.

Either he is drunk or medicated to the max.

2. Judy, I've noticed that too.

I use to think he was nervous.
Now I'm not so sure.

He certainly acts like he's bombed.

11. I used to call my behavior nervous too.

When my hands shook and my speech was incomprehensible - it was nerves you see...

Then I sobered up.

4. Hell he's looked that way to me for years
and when you compare videos of him when he was governor and even when he was debating Ann Richards and compare that to now, he's had some kind of cognitive decline, that and/or he is drinking/using and it is the cumulative result of that.

I don't think you are crazy, he's "just not right", but then he never has been as far as I can tell.

Also I've seen a video on smokinggun.com of him in 1992 at a wedding where he appears to be plastered and is talking up a storm, is obnoxious as hell, and has a glass of a clear liquid with no ice. 1992, hmmmm, several years after he allegedly got the "cure"

Of course, maybe he is using a different paradigm for "recovery" than I use, I dunno, something that allows "moderation", that might explain a lot :D
