it didn't happen for me overnight, I had to work up the courage to even attempt to slow down and that took several tries. after I had slowed down a notch I had to pray and practice to push back that first drink, a minute at a time.

then I got the guts to reach out.

then things started happening.

and now I'm clean and sober.

but it didn't start in an instant, it took time and effort.

If I can do it, you can do it.

tiny baby steps, one day at a time, an hour, a minute at a time.

Don't give up before the miracle happens! :hi:

you are not morally corrupt because you drink. and the things that you have done to yourself and your family can be made right in time.

And most of us have been in there with you. But with some help, you can get out. I'm the original weak-willed wussy, and if I managed to quit drinking, anyone can. Just ask for help: you'll be amazed by how many people will be there for you.

9. Elshiva- You Are Not A Failure!

You're one of us- an alcoholic.

We drink- that's what we do.
It consumes our entire life- figuring out
how to get enough alcohol to make it
through the day/night.

Sobriety doesn't come easily.
It takes a lot of pain,sometimes near death experiences
to get here.

I use to get sooo POed hearing the AA sayings, but
they are true.

If you want this- and are willing to go to any lengths
to get this thing called sobriety, you will get it.

It may take a few attempts to get there.
I went in and out of the program so many times in my first year,
I was forever standing up at meetings as a " in my first 30 days"
member. Then it sank it- and it worked!

Don't give up hope- you still have it.

You have friends here.
And we ain't liquid.
